Vietnam au bleu profond. A new adventure for Kynao and a new Cyanotype Collection.

"To travel? To lose countries.

To be constantly other,

Through the soul, through the eyes."

— Fernando Pessoa

What does it really mean to travel? Is it about discovering new places, or is it about becoming someone new in the process? Pessoa’s words resonate deeply as we prepare for our upcoming journey to Vietnam—an adventure that is as much about exploration as it is about embracing the unknown.

A three-week journey to Vietnam

For three weeks, we’ll be immersed in unfamiliar landscapes, capturing fleeting moments through silver photography—a medium where nothing is immediate, where each image remains a mystery until it’s revealed in the darkroom. There’s a certain magic (and a fair amount of risk) in working this way. Unlike digital photography, there’s no instant preview, no way of knowing if we truly captured what we saw. It’s about trusting the process, letting go, and allowing the unknown to take its course.

Three weeks to develop our new Cyanotype Collection

And then, once we return, the second phase of the journey begins. We’ll have three weeks to develop our film, to rediscover what we’ve captured, and to transform these moments into a new cyanotype collection, where deep blues and soft shadows will tell the story of our experience in Vietnam. Much like travel itself, this creative process is about revelation—only when we step back and reflect do we truly see what we’ve lived.

Exhibition opens on May 20th

This new collection, Voyager? is more than just a series of images.

It’s a question, an invitation, a challenge. To step into the unknown. To let go of expectations. To trust that what emerges—whether in travel, in art, or in life—is exactly what was meant to be.

Join us on this adventure. The exhibition opens on May 20th, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you.

Will you dare to see differently?
