Vietnam Cyanotype Exhibition

“To travel was not merely to move through space, but to lose oneself — to surrender to transformation.”These words by Fernando Pessoa became the guiding thread of our creative journey — and the soul of our cyanotype photography exhibition, Voyager?, held in Paris on May 20, 2025.

For us, this exhibition was not only a presentation of artworks but an immersion — a visual and emotional voyage through blue, light, and memory.

From Vietnam to Paris — A Journey in Blue

It all began in Vietnam, where for three weeks we traveled through mountains, rivers, and quiet villages, capturing fleeting moments through the fragile medium of silver photography. Each photograph was a mystery — invisible until revealed in the darkroom, much like the deeper meaning of travel, which only appears once the journey ends.

Upon returning to our studio, we entered another phase of discovery: the cyanotype process. Over several weeks, we reinterpreted these hidden images, translating them into luminous shades of deep Prussian blue.In this transformation, the cyanotype became more than a technique — it became a language. A way to express the unspoken, to reveal what memory leaves behind: the vibration of a moment, the trace of light, the breath of the unknown.

Voyager? in Paris — Between Light and Reflection

When “Voyager?” Vietnam Cyanotype Exhibition opened its doors in Paris, we were overwhelmed by the warmth and curiosity of our visitors. The exhibition invited them into a world of blue — a space where time slowed down, where light turned into silence, and where each cyanotype became a fragment of a shared journey.

Many told us they felt transported — not only to Vietnam, but into their own inner landscapes. The delicate, dreamlike tones of the cyanotypes invited contemplation and calm. Some saw echoes of the sea, others of the sky, others of their own memories.

Through their eyes, we discovered new meanings in our work. Every conversation, every moment of stillness in front of an image, reminded us that the true essence of travel lies in connection — between places, between people, between light and emotion.

Voyager? — A Question that Continues

“Voyager?” was never meant to offer answers. It was a question, an invitation, a challenge.

To travel? To lose countries. To be constantly other, through the soul, through the eyes. — Fernando Pessoa

As we look back, we realize that “Voyager?” was both an exhibition and a transformation — for us, and for all who experienced it. The cyanotypes became imprints of discovery, doubt, and revelation.

Now, as we prepare our upcoming exhibition “Empreints du monde” in Paris this November, we carry forward the lessons of Voyager? : that to create is to explore, to lose, to rediscover — always through the infinite shades of blue.

With gratitude and wonder,
