Ten years ago, Kyano began with a simple and heartfelt intention. We started creating cyanotypes as handmade gifts for our loved ones. At the time, we could not have imagined that this quiet gesture would grow into a creative journey that would shape our lives so deeply.

A Creative Language

What began as an intimate practice slowly became a space where our creativity and imagination could fully unfold. Kyano grew into a studio, a language, and a way of sharing our vision with the world. Through cyanotype, we found a medium that allowed us to express what words often cannot. The deep blue became our voice, holding memories, emotions, and fragments of the places that moved us.

Over the years, our path has taken us across landscapes both vast and delicate. From the softness of Mediterranean shores to the raw beauty of Iceland, from the vibrant ecosystems of Costa Rica to the quiet poetry of Vietnam, and into the intimate world of botanicals, each place has left a trace within us. Each image is a reflection of these encounters, a moment of wonder captured through light.

Cyanotype as Poetry

Cyanotype has become for us a form of visual poetry. It invites us to slow down, to observe, and to connect more deeply with the world around us. The process itself holds a sense of presence and attention, allowing nature to imprint itself directly onto paper in shades of blue that feel both timeless and alive.

As we celebrate ten years of Kyano, we feel immense gratitude. Gratitude for the creative growth we have experienced, for the evolution of our work, and for the community that has supported us along the way. Your presence, your encouragement, and your connection to our work have made this journey possible.

The Exhibition

To mark this anniversary, we are honored to present a new cyanotype exhibition titled “10”. This exhibition is a retrospective, a journey through our images and our memories. It brings together fragments of the past ten years, inviting you to travel with us through the places, emotions, and moments that have shaped Kyano.
