NEW MIXED MEDIA COLLECTION

Cyanotype Reimagined

For a long time, we have been keeping our « failed » cyanotypes.
Although they didn’t meet our standards for exhibition, we could never bring ourselves to throw them away. Each print still held something beautiful: rich blue tones, unexpected textures, traces of light, and the unique character of the handmade process.
For years, Dora had the idea of giving these prints a second life.
Drawing on her background in fashion and textile design, she saw the potential in the beautiful Arches Platine cotton paper and its countless shades of blue. Little by little, a new body of work began to emerge, one that moves beyond photography and into the realm of mixed-media abstraction.
Using techniques such as weaving, stitching, cutting, and collage, she transforms these cyanotypes into entirely new artworks, where fragments become textures, landscapes, and stories.
These are not simply recycled cyanotypes, they are transformed cyanotypes.
The story is not about failure, but about transformation. About seeing potential where others might see an ending. About embracing imperfection, reimagining materials, and allowing something unexpected to emerge.
